Ashland years - 2000 to 2016 | 8 Images
In late 1999 Clifford moved from Colorado to Ashland, Oregon. For the first year or two he audited art classes at SOU taught by Cody Bustamante to get limbered up and switch gears from living a rural lifestyle to living back in town again.
He quickly outgrew the tiny cottage space that he was using at his home as a studio, and moved to a much larger studio in a building owned by Mary Pope, in Talent, OR. He he worked solo here on mostly figurative pieces. He painted here from 2001 to 2004.
When a group of artists formed Talent Studios in 2004, Cliff joined them. Here his work became progressively more and more abstract.
